Skate Tour in St.Petersburg, Russia
(September 2, 2000)

On September 2, 2000 a skate tour in St.Petersburg, Russia was held. Russian skaters (from St.Petersburg and Moscow) run via "rivers and channels" (by embankments), visited St.Peter and Paul Fortresse, and skated through Petrogradsky District and Vasilievsky Island. The total distance was more than 50 km.

Initial point at the Palace Square. Skaters are ready to start. This will be the 1st part of our inline tour in St-Petersburg: via "rivers and channels" (by embankments).
Summer Guarden. Unfortunately, there is no asphalt in this beautiful park.

In front of famous Gorky (now, Tovstonogov) Drama Theater. A stop during a long trip near Fontanka River.

On the Egypt bridge across Fontanka. Dear Sphinx, we are very sorry :-).
Near the monument to Mr. Michael Glinka (famous Russian composer). Nearby, there are the Conservatory and Kirov Ballet!
On the Potchtamtsky (Post-Office) Bridge.
On the St.Isaac Square. Behind skaters there are St.Isaac Caphedral and the monument to Alexander I (one of Russian Tsars).
Within St.Peter and Paul Fortresse. Around the monument to Peter the Great (one of Russian Tsars) and old Russian soldier (from wax).
In front of Litejny Bridge. Listening to Russian musiciens.
Near Peter the Great Palace.
This is our famous Aurora Cruiser. In 1917, from here the Great October Revolution was initiated. Today here is a museum.
In front of Ioann Monastery (nunnery).
It's a lunch time. Some skaters are very tired :-).
Near Pribaltiyskaya Hotel. Excellent panorama of Sea Port and ... legs :-).
